Ridge gourd stir fry

 Ridge gourd is one of the common vegetable used in tamil nadu. In our kongu region , this stir fry is a common menu especially during puratashi month fasting. It is simple to make.
Requirements :
 Chopped ridge gourd – 1 cup
Shallots – 6
Green chilly – 3
Curry leaves
Oil -1 tsp
Mustard seeds – ½ tsp
Salt to taste

Method :
Heat oil , add mustard seeds and allow to splutter.
Add shallots , slit green chilly , curry leaves and sauté well.
Add chopped vegetable , required salt and stir well.
Cook in slow flame with closed lid for five minutes.
Stir well in between.
Ready to serve along with sambar rice and rasam rice.
note :
  add grated coconut before serving.
