The name of this recipe itself reveals that there are five taste of uthappam. While browsing I came through this recipe in Rak’s kitchen. From that day I want to try this recipe . I already posted many uthappams , this may be combination of all uthappams in the same plate. It is quick to make breakfast.
Dosa batter - 4 cup
Oil / ghee – 2 tbs
For topping :
Chopped onion – 2 tbs
Idly podi – 2 tbs
Chopped tomato – 2 tbs
Grated carrot – 2 tbs
Mint leaves – 10
Heat the skillet or griddle , pour a small ladle of batter and spread to a thickness of two inch.
Onion uthappam – sprinkle chopped onion and ghee, cook covered with a lid.
Podi uthappam – sprinkle idly podi and ghee , cook covered with the lid.
Mint uthappam – place the mint leaves all through the uthappam and cook with closed lid.
Tomato uthappam – sprinkle tomato pieces and cook with closed lid.
Carrot uthappam – sprinkle grated carrot and cook with closed lid.
As cooking with closed lid , no need to turn on to other side.
Serve hot with sambar and chutney.
