Drumstick with Potato Curry – No oil Curry

This was a tamarind based curry made by using drumstick and potatoes. This curry goes well with the plain rice and dosa or Idli. This curry was easy to make with only few ingredients.
This curry tastes similar to our puli kulambu and drumstick porichakulambu . My mom told me to add the potatoes too and this combination was so delicious.

Requirements :
Drumstick – 3
Potato – 2
Tamarind – a marble size
Chilli powder – 1 tsp
Coriander powder – ½ tsp
Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
Garm flour – 3 tbs
Salt as required

Method :
Chop the potatoes and drumstick.
Cook both till ¾ th cooked with half cup of water.
Soak the tamarind in half cup of water and extract the juice.
To this tamarind juice , add the chilli powder , coriander powder , turmeric powder and required salt , mix well.
Add this tamarind mixture to a pan and bring to boil.
In the mean time mix the besan flour with half cup of water without any lumps.
When the tamarind mixture boils well ,add in the cooked vegetables and the besan mixture and keep stirring.
After adding the besan the curry will starts thickening.
Take off from flame after five minutes.

Drumstick potato curry is ready to serve.

Serve with plain rice , Idli or dosa.
It tasted same as the puli kulambu, I liked it a lot as it was without a drop of oil.
