Eggless Chocolate Brownies

The chocolate Brownies are a flat , baked square or bar developed in the united states at the end of the 19 th century and popularized in both US and Canada during the first half of the 20 th century.

The brownie is a cross between the cake and the cookie in texture. They mostly contain nuts – walnuts , other nuts can be used. These are popular seved along with icecream as dessert.

This brownies was in my to do list for a long time. I made these yesterday and we enjoyed a lot.
Those who like the chocolates or chocolate cake will surely like these brownies . It can be simply called as chocolate fudge.

I had seen in a tv show , they used buttermilk instead of the yogurt. It must not be sour , as it will change the taste of the browny.

Requirements :
All purpose flour / Maida – 1 cup
Cocoa powder – ¼ cup
Powdered sugar – ¾ cup
Yogurt – ¼ cup
Canola oil / vegetable oil – 4 tbs
Baking powder – ¼ tsp
Baking soda – ¼ tsp
Chopped walnuts – ¼ cup

Method :
Sift the flour , cocoa powder , baking powder and baking soda thrice or more.

In a bowl , whisk sugar , yogurt and oil together well.
Add the sift flour mixture to the wet mixture and mix well.
Add in half of the chopped nuts and mix well.

Grease the baking tray , square tin is always used . As I didn’t have square tin , I used the round tin .
Pour the mixture into the greased baking tin .
Sprinkle the remaining chopped nuts on the top.

Bake in the preheated oven @ 220*C in the convection mode for 20 minutes or till the inserted skewer comes out clean.

Take off from oven and let it cool.

Cut into squares and serve.

Chocolate Brownies are ready to serve.
Serve warm or chilled.
