As I was inspired from many lovely shapes of
dinner rolls , I want to try a crescent shaped cookie. I made the dough and my
sister anu helped me in making the shape. She had seen how to make a crescent
dinner roll in a tv show.
Requirements :
Whole wheat flour – 2 cup
Butter – 1 tbs
Red chilly flakes – ½ tsp
Cumin – ½ tsp
Salt – as required
Sugar – 1 tbs
Water
Baking powder – 1 tsp
Method :
Sift the wheat flour ,
baking powder and salt together.
Take a bowl , add the
butter and sugar mix well.
Add the chilly flakes and
cumin , mix well.
Now add the flour mixture
little by little and mix well.
Add about quarter cup of
water and mix well.
If you feel the dough is
dry , can add little more water.
Let the dough rest for 30
minutes.
Take a small ball of the
dough and press with the rolling pin into 2’’ thickness .
Cut into small triangles.
Take a triangle out , on
the larger side make a small slit in the
middle.
By holding the ends of the
larger side of the triangle, roll towards the tip of the triangle.
Repeat with the remaining
dough.
Preheat the oven to 180
degree Celsius.
Arrange the crescents in
the baking tray and bake for about 20 minutes or till slightly brown.
Let it cool and store .
Savory crescent cookies is
ready to serve.
