I like to eat haldiram’s sonpapdi and this moong dhal
fry. I tried this today and the making is easy and tastes same as haldiram’s.
Requirements :
Split moong dhal – 1 cup
Salt to taste
Oil for frying
Chilly powder – ½ tsp
Sugar – ¼ tsp
Asafetida – a pinch
Method :
Wash and soak the moong
dhal for two hours.
Drain the water completely
and let it dry in a cotton cloth for fifteen minutes.
Heat oil and deep fry the
soaked dhal in low flame.
Take out and spread in a
absorbent paper and let it cool.
Crush the sugar coarsely.
Mix the salt , sugar ,
chilly powder and asafetida well.
Add the spice mixture to
the fried dhal and toss well.
Store the dhal in air
tight container.
Fried moong dhal is ready
to serve.
