Chinese Peanut Cookies / Fah Shang Peng

Peanut cookies are one of the favorite Chinese New year cookies. This is called in Chinese as Fah Shang Peng.

These cookies are specially made during Chinese New year. These are crunch, chewy and melt in mouth cookies. Yes , it was true it melts in mouth…………

I liked it a lot , don’t consider on calories while having this delicious cookies…….
Requirements :
Roasted peanut – 1 cup
Powder sugar – ¼ cup
Peanut oil – ¼ cup
All – purpose flour – 1 cup
Butter – 1 tbs
Egg yolk for egg wash
I didn’t give egg wash.

Method :
Grind the roasted peanuts. Peanut must be in the form of crumble.
Mix the grounded peanut , sugar , oil , butter and flour together.

Knead well for five minutes with hand .
Shape into small marble sized balls.

Arrange on the baking tray.
Flatten slightly with the fingers or using fork.
With the cap of the tooth paste , create a circle impression on top.

If using egg wash , brush the beaten egg on all the shaped cookies. I didn’t use egg wash.
Preheat the oven to 220 degree Celsius.

Bake for 20 minutes or until brown.

Let it cool in wire rack and store.
Peanut cookies is ready to serve.
