Pakoda are the famous snack of India . there are many varieties of pakoda.
It is called as pakora in Hindi. It is a fried snack found across south Asia.
Pakodas are created by dipping onion,
eggplant, potato, spinach, plantain, paneer , cauliflower , chilli pepper ,
bread or chicken in a batter of gram flour and then deep frying them. The most
popular varieties are palak pakora , onion pakora and potato pakora.
Pakodas are usually served as snacks or
appetizers.
These are easy to make snack within few
minutes.
I used mixed vegetables to make this delicious
pakoda. It was so delicious.
Requirements :
Besan flour –
4 cup
Rice flour – ½
cup
Chopped onion
– 1 cup
Chopped carrot
– ¼ cup
Chopped beans
– ¼ cup
Chopped
cabbage – ¼ cup
Chopped ginger
– 1 tsp
Chilli powder
– 4 tsp
Asafoetida – ¼
tsp
Salt as
required
Oil for frying
Method :
In a large bowl , mix the besan flour , rice
flour ,asafoetida salt and chilli powder well.
To this add
the chopped onion , ginger ,cabbage , carrot and French beans. Mix well .
Add about half
a cup of water and mix well. The consistency was the batter must be semi thick
as idli batter consistency.
At this stage
, check the spice and salt of the batter , if needed can be added.
Heat the oil
in a pan. Make sure the oil is heat enough to deep fry.
Reduce the flame
to medium.Pour a spoon
of batter into the hot oil , repeat till the pan is full.
Cook in medium
flame to cook uniformly.
Cook till the
pakodas are golden brown in colour.
Mixed vegetables
pakodas are ready to serve.
Serve with any
chutney of your choice.
