Halwa is a famous sweet which is popular in India and in many asian
countries. Halwas are made most commonly with wheat . it is also made using
coconut milk ,carrot , rice flour and many other.
Carrot halwa , which is
commonly called as gajar ka halwa gajar
means carrot in hindi. It is also described as Punjabi halwa made of nuts ,
milk , sugar , ghee with grated carrot. Carrot
is a rich source of carotene , which is the vitamin A , essential for eye
sight.
This halwa with its vibrant saffron color will
be appealing to everyone’s eyes.

Requirements :
Grated carrot – 1 ½cup
Milk – ½ cup
Sugar – 4 tbs
Milk powder – 1 tbs
Ghee – 1 tbs
Cashewnuts – 3
Method :
In a pan , add the grated
carrot and milk , allow to cook in medium flame.
After five to ten minutes , add the sugar and
mix well , by this time milk will be evaporated.
The sugar will starts
melting and mixes with the carrot.
Now , add the milk powder
and mix well.
Add the ghee and stir
continuously.
When the halwa is cooked
and won’t stick to the pan , take off from flame.
Garnish with ghee roasted cahews
and serve.
Serve this delicious carrot
halwa refrigerated.
Note :
Milk powder can be
replaced by khoya.
If whole carrot is used ,
it can be pressure cooked and remaining steps same as above.
