Spicy Tomato mini Idlies



 Idli are the famous south Indian breakfast. It was a healthier option as it is steamed. It is the preferred food for sick and hospitalized people as it is easily digestible and has no oil.
 It is also a popular breakfast during festivals and in occasions like marriage………
 I had already posted Dahi Idli. This is a post on the mini idlies / button idlies tempered in tomato based gravy. It will be an excellent snack. Kids will love to have this delicious idlies.


Requirements :
Mini idlies – 20 nos
Onion – 1
Green chilli – 2
Ginger garlic paste – ¼ tsp
Tomato – 2 - 3
Curry leave – a sprig
Oil – 1 tsp
Mustard seeds – ¼ tsp
Salt as required

Method:
Chop the onion, tomato and green chillies.
Heat oil in a pan, add the mustard seeds and let it splutter.
Add in the chopped onion and sauté till it becomes translucent.
Add the chopped chillies and curry leaves, sauté for a minute.
Add the ginger garlic paste and chopped tomato.
Cook for few minutes till the tomatoes are mashed well.
Add the required salt and mix well.
Now, add the mini idlies and toss for two minutes.
Make sure the idlies are coated well with the masala.

Sprinkle chopped coriander leaves.
Spicy Tomato Mini Idlies are ready to serve.

Note :
It can be made with the normal size idlies, cut into pieces and do same as above.
Imstead of ginger garlic paste, chopped ginger and garlic can be used.
If kids are going to eat means, replace the green chillies with the chilli powder.
