Mini Pumpkin shaped Dinner Rolls #BreadBakers

For this October ,  the theme choosen for Bread Bakers is Fall. When I search for fall breads , this pumpkin shaped cute breads were my choice.

I had seen this bread long time ago. From that time I want to give it a try , Now , it was time to fulfill my desire to make this cute pumpkin breads.

As usual I made the bread without egg. As I had added pumpkin puree , which  gives the orange colour as well as flavor to the bread. I shaped the bread into mini pumpkins.

I enjoyed the whole process of making and baking the bread. Everyone in our family liked the bread .
I used  homemade pumpkin puree , I will be sharing the recipe soon.

Requirements :
All purpose flour – 5 cup
Homemade pumpkin puree – 1 cup
Whole milk – 1 cup
Sugar – 1 tsp
Brown sugar – ½ cup
Butter – ½ cup
Active dry yeast – 3 tbs
Luke warm water – ½ cup
Salt – 1 tsp
Almond , cashew
Melted butter for brushing

Method :
To the luke warm water  add the yeast along with a teaspoon of sugar and let it proof.
Warm the milk and to this add the butter and stir well till it melts. Add in the brown sugar and pumpkin puree and mix well.
Add the flour to a bowl , to this add in the proofed  yeast and mix.
Add in the milk mixture  to the flour and mix well with a wooden spatula.  The dough will be sticky at this stage.
Turn the dough to the kitchen counter top , dust little flour . Knead with the heel of the palm for ten minutes to build up gluten.
Place the dough in a oiled bowl and cover with a cloth  , let it to rise and double in a warm place , it takes about 1 – 2 hour.
When the dough doubles , punch and deflate it. Knead the dough for five minutes. Then divide the dough equally according to the size of the bread needed.
Roll each piece into a ball . Flatten the ball a little with your palm. Using a knife , cut around the outer but leave the center uncut .

Poke a hole in the center with your finger, insert the almond / cashew on the hole.
Place the prepared mini pumpkin breads in the baking tray with  2 inch space between. Let them to rise again to be doubles say for 45 minutes.
Brush the melted butter on the rolls and I sprinkled sugar on them , for browning while baking.
Bake the rolls in the preheated oven @ 200* C for 20 – 30 minutes.
As I inserted the almonds before baking , it too cooked and got a golden brown resembles exactly the pumpkin stem.

Mini Pumpkin shaped dinner rolls are ready to be serve.
