Bottle gourd is a healthy veggie which contains lot of water content. It helps in weight reduction. This kulambu will goes well with rice and dosa.
Bottlegourd ( chopped ) - 1 cup
Shallots – 10
Sambar powder – 1 tbs
Ginger garlic paste – ½ tsp
Curry leave – a sprig
Oil – 1 tbs
Tomato – 2
Salt as required
To grind :
Coconut – 2 tbs
Aniseed – ½ tsp
Cinnamon – a small stick
Heat oil in a pan , add chopped shallots and fry well.
Add curry leaves and tomato. Sauté till tomatoes are mashed well.
Add chopped bottle gourd and mix well.
Add the sambar powder and a cup of water.
Cook in slow flame with closed lid.
Add the coconut paste and allow to cook for another two minutes.
Suraikai kulambu is ready to serve.
Serve with plain rice.
