I don’t know whether it can be called as jamun or
not . I had read about this recipe in a magazine and made this immediately . I made
this three months back but couldn’t post till today.
As usual jamun is round in shape , it won’t
admit to that rule of shape , but taste wise it is equal to other jamuns.
It is
simple and easy , can be made with minutes when unexpected guests turn up. Lets
move on to the recipe……….
Requirements
:
Bread – 2
slices
Sugar – ½
cup
Cardamom powder
– a pinch
Oil for
frying
Water - ½
cup
Method :
Heat oil
in a kadai.
Cut the
bread slice into four equal pieces.
Deep fry
in hot oil till golden brown.
Mix the
sugar with water and bring to boil.
Boil till
the syrup reaches one string consistency.
Many may
know about the one string consistency , but I am sharing here for beginners.
One string
consistency – when we place a drop of the syrup between thumb and index finger
, open the fingers , a string of sugar syrup will form without breaking .
Add the
cardamom powder to the syrup and mix well.
Take off
from flame.
Add few
drops of ghee to the syrup to get the nice aroma of ghee.
Dip the
fried bread slices in hot syrup for five minutes and serve.
Bread Jamun
can be served along with Icecream.
Note :
For frying
the bread pieces ghee can be used for frying.
