Vendaikai thakkali kulambu



  This kulambu is made without tamarind by using tomato. This is easy to prepare.  This kulambu goes well with plain rice.
Requirements :
Lady‘s finger ( chopped ) – 1 cup
Shallots – 6
Sambar powder – 1 tbs
Tomato – 2
Curry leave – a sprig
Oil – 1 tsp
Mustard seeds – ½ tsp
Turmeric powder – ½ tsp
Salt as required

Method :
Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds and wait till it splutters.
Add chopped shallots and curry leaves . sauté well.
Add tomatoes and sauté well till it is fully mashed.
Add chopped lady’s finger and fry for few minutes.
Add sambhar powder and a cup of water.
Cook with closed lid.
Add required salt and mix well.
Vendaikkai kulambu is ready to serve.

Vendaikai / Lady’s Finger pepper fry



  This lady’s finger pepper fry is easy and tasty dish. As it is simple to make with less ingredients. There is no onion and garlic in this dish.
Requirements :
Lady’s finger ( chopped ) – 1 cup
Oil – 1 tsp
Pepper powder – 1 tsp
Salt – as required

Method :
Heat oil in a pan, add chopped lady’s finger and sauté well.
Stir well lady’s finger till cooked.
Add required salt and pepper powder and mix well.
Serve with plain rice and sambar, curd rice.

PUNJABI FOOD


Punjabi food
  I made this punjabi meal  which contains naan , beetroot poori, bindhi crispies, aloo mattar stew , channa masala, vermiceli kheer and fruit curd rice.
  Here i shared the method of beetroot poori , other recipes i will add later.



Beetroot poori:
Ingredients: 
Beetroot- ¼ kg
Wheat flour- ½ kg
Salt- to taste
Oil – for fry
Method:
Clean the beetroot and grind it .extract the juice, and sieve it.
Add the beetroot juice and salt with wheat flour.
Make thick dough.
Heat the oil in a pan and fry the poori.

Ladiesfinger yogurt gravy ( Bhindi dahi gravy )



 This gravy was best combo with roti and naan. Even children will like its taste. As we are adding curd , there won’t be any stickiness  of lady’s finger.
Requirements :
Lady’s finger   - 1  cup
Curd  -- 1 cup
Onion – 1
Ginger garlic paste – 1 tbs
Chilly powder – 1 tsp
Coriander powder – 1 tsp
Garam masala  - 1tsp
Coriander leaves

Method :
 Heat pan , pour oil and sauté lady’s finger well and keep aside.
Heat oil , add chopped onion and sauté. Add fried lady’s finger followed by all the masala and  salt.
Add the curd and mix well.
Allow to boil for two minutes .
Garnish with coriander leaves.
Serve with plain rice , phulkha, naan.

Lady’s finger curry / kulambu


This was a kulambu which was frequent in our home . This was a tamarind based curry goes well with rice.

Requirements:
Lady’s finger (cut) – ½ cup
Pearl onion      -  10 -15 nos
Tomato  - 1
Chilly powder -  2 tbs
Coriander powder – 1 ½ tbs
Garlic   - 3 -4 cloves
Tamarind juice  - ¼ cup
To grind  : 
coconut – 2 tbs
khuskhus – ½ tsp
ginger – 1” piece



Method :

Heat oil in a kadai, add cumin seeds , onion , garlic, curry leaves.
Add lady’s finger and sauté for few minutes.




Then add sliced tomatoes , chilly powder, coriander powder  and turmeric powder.
Fry till the raw smell of masala leaves .

 Then add the tamarind juice and required salt.


When the veggie is cooked , add the grounded masala and allow to boil.


Serve with plain rice or curd rice.
