Dal puri is puffed bread with lentil
stuffing. This a traditional snack common in Bangladesh and West Bengal of
India. This is a spicy snack recipe perfect as appetizer. It may seem time
consuming but you will forget those when you taste it. We had it with the Aloor
Dom.
Requirement :
For Dough :
1 ½ cup plain flour
2 tsp oil
1 tsp salt
For Stuffing :
½ cup red lentil /
Tuvar dhal
1 tsp chilli flakes
½ sliced onion
1 tsp ginger garlic
paste
1 tbs chopped
coriander leaves
salt to taste
Method :
Wash the lentil and cook.
Mix salt to the flour
and add the required water and knead a soft and smooth dough.
Add the oil and knead again . Let the dough rest for 15 minutes.
Heat oil in a pan ,
add the chopped onion and sauté , then add
ginger garlic paste and sauté again.
Add in the cooked
rice and chilli flakes , salt and mix well.
Take off from flame
and add in chopped coriander leaves mix well.
Make small round
balls of the stuffing as well as the dough.
Roll the dough and
place the lentil ball in the centre , seal and cover the edge.
Roll this again and
deep fry in oil at medium flame till golden brown.
We had these puris
with Aloor Dom.
