Spinach pakora is a common snack in India too
. This tea time treat is everyone’s
favorite in our family. This pakora was different from the indian version as it
uses less flour. Some add grated potato the below recipe too.
Requirements :
1 cup Spinach
¼ cup carrot grated
1 large onion
3 green chilli
½ tsp cumin powder
¼ cup Besan flour /
chickpea flour
1 tbs Rice flour
¼ tsp baking powder (
optional )
½ tsp salt
oil for frying
Method :
Wash the spinach and chop finely.
Peel onion and chop.
Chop green chillies .
In a bowl , add the besan flour , rice four , cumin
powder , salt and baking powder , mix together.
To the flour mixture , add the chopped spinach
, onion , green chilli and grated carrot,
mix well.
The mixture may be sticky from the water
content of onion and spinach.
If the mixture is dry sprinkle little water
and mix well.
Heat oil
in a pan , when the oil is hot , reduce the flame to medium.
Take a spoonful of batter and carefully drop
in to oil.
Cook till the pakoras turn golden brown.
Take off and place the pakoras in the kitchen towel to drain excess oil.
Hot spinach pakoras are ready to be served.
Serve along with mint
yogurt raita.
