Beetroot was the wonderful vegetable which
improves our body’s haemoglobin content. A great veggie with antioxidant
property.
For this January theme – Red Theme for Ssshhhhh secretly cooking , I was paired with
Poornima Porchelvan of Poornima cookbook. She gave me Beetroot and almond as the secret
ingredients.
I decided to make a smoothie bowl , with beet
and Almond along with Red Banana , pomegranate and cardamom.
This smoothie bowl will be a perfect valentine
treat for your loved one in a healthy guilt free way.
Red banana also known as Red dacca banana is a
great source of fiber.It is rich in potassium and Vitamin C.
This
smoothie bowl can be prepared and served within ten minutes if you have the
ingredients in hand.
Requirements :
Beetroot
chopped – 1 cup
Red
Banana – 2 nos
Pomegranate
Juice – ½ cup
Almond
– 6 nos
Homemade
proetein Powder – 2 tbs
Cardamom
– 2
Clarified
Butter / Olive oil – 1 spoon
Toppings :
Almond
flakes
Pomegranate
seeds
Method :
Add
the chopped beetroot in a sauce pan and add the clarified butter and roast for
five minutes. This is to remove the raw smell of beetroot and to retain its
colour.
Add
the roasted beetroot , almond , protein
powder , cardamom , chopped red banana and pomegranate juice in a blender and
blend smoothly.
Pour
into the serving bowl and top with the banana slices , sprinkle almond flakes
and pomegranate seeds.
Beet Banana smoothie bowl is ready to be served.
