Halwa , typing the name itself makes me
drooling. I ate halwa bought from store. First time tried at home. I used whole
wheat flour to make this halwa.
First , I thought of making halwa with whole
wheat , after thinking of the long process , I opted this flour halwa . as this
is easy to make .
Requirements :
Wheat flour – 1 cup
Sugar – 1 cup
Ghee – ½ cup
Cashews
Food colour ( optional )
Rose Essence / cardamom
powder
Method :
Dry roast the wheat flour
in a kadai till the aroma comes and keeps aside.
Mix this flour with two cup of water and bring
to boil.
Stir continuously for
about fifteen minutes.
At this stage , it will
become transparent , add the sugar and mix well.
Sugar will melt and merges
with the flour giving a shiny appearance. Add the food colour and mix well.
Add the chopped cashew , rose essence and
ghee little by little and stir continuously.
At the beginning the halwa
will engulf all the ghee.
At a stage , the used ghee
will be oozing out of the halwa -
perfect halwa is ready.
Take off from the flame
and pour into the greased tray.
Let it cool and cut into
desired shapes.
This halwa can be stored
for about ten days at room temperature.
Delicious halwa is ready
to serve.
It will be chewy and i liked it very much.
this is different
